JOB SUMMARY

Act a business liaison between outside counsel and the Bankruptcy Processing Department, providing settlement and litigation alternatives, as well as, act as a central point of contact between in-house counsel, local counsel and business units on litigated and contested cases.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
 

  • Act as a central point of contact between in-house counsel, local counsel and business units on litigated and contested cases
  • Review pleadings and ensure appropriate matters are escalated to in-house counsel
  • Review business records to ensure accuracy of responsive pleadings
  • Work with in-house and outside counsel to provide recommendations for case resolution and litigation alternatives to management
  • Develop and update status reports on litigated cases
  • Manage outside counsel to ensure proper case handling and reduce risk
  • Assist management in developing and updating policies and procedures
  • Closely monitor vendor production and quality of work providing multiple daily directives to insure compliance with all investor requirements and court deadlines
  • Approve or deny attorney fee request

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
 

  • Graduation from a 4 year college or university with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position is preferred.Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job
  • Basic knowledge of the Bankruptcy laws, FDCPA and CFPB guidelines with a minimum 2-5 years of bankruptcy experience with hands on preparation, quality control/validation and/or filing of 1-2 of the following key bankruptcy areas:Proof of Claims, Motions for Relief, Payment Change Notice, Post Petition Fee Notice, Cramdown Rebooking, and/or Case Closing in a high volume.
  • Previous experience with LSAMS and LPS/Black Knight preferred
