The internal ad agency for Mr. Cooper (the nation’s largest non-bank mortgage servicer) is looking for a kick-butt copywriter to join the creative team. This person should be a clear thinker, exceptional wordsmith and have experience working in an agency-like environment. You’ll partner with an art director (oh, we’re hiring an art director too…know anybody?) and report to our VP, Creative Director. Our mission? To deliver the Mr. Cooper brand to the world with outstanding creative work.

As copywriter, you’ll be responsible for writing copy that promotes our services, digital technology products, overall brand and getting results. Deliverables will run the gamut, including TV commercials, online videos, emails (a lot of them), direct mail (a lot of it), social/digital ads, promo materials and more. 

The ideal candidate will be able to turn complicated mortgage mumbo jumbo into simple, compelling copy. It won’t be easy. But we believe in you. And we’ll be here to help.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Write copy for monthly direct mail and email campaigns
  • Support internal clients with a variety of copy needs
  • Contribute fresh ideas to build the Mr. Cooper brand
  • Ensure everything is written in the brand voice
  • Brainstorm with internal clients and our creative team to develop new ideas and push our creative work forward

Core Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or something similar
  • 2-5 years of agency experience
  • Fluency in digital media with an interest in keeping up with the latest digital marketing trends
  • Must be a team player with a strong work ethic
  • Must be able to juggle multiple assignments at once
  • Must be able to produce good work on tight (sometimes same-day) deadlines
  • Must have a strong opinion on the oxford comma, one way or another
  • Online portfolio required

Portfolio must contain:

  • Advertising executions with conceptual thinking
  • Sample marketing campaigns with both digital and non-digital examples
