The Reverse Mortgage Sr. BI Engineer is responsible for developing, planning and executing projects while monitoring and overseeing development processes to ensure timely delivery of quality solutions. Designs and develops projects, operational process changes, and/or serves as product owner for technology solutions to support reverse mortgage operations. Provides support for resolving system, business process and/or procedural issues while ensuring compliance with state, federal, and regulatory requirements. Primary objectives being process improvement, efficiency gains, and operational cost reduction.


  • Conducts user interviews to collect business and functional requirements for projects.
  • Analyzes business and user needs, and translates them into proper system requirement specifications.
  • Documents business, functional and system requirements in a clear and concise manner that will provide clear definition of desired project / program functionality.
  • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on: user needs, how the request impacts / integrates with other business processes, industry requirements, business goals, and service level agreements (SLA’s) both internal and external.
  • Works directly with the business leaders / managers to understand current process, future goals, and provides documented strategies to meet those goals.
  • Works with other system business analysts to understand and manage process dependencies.
  • Keeps teammates / leadership informed of changes by keeping product backlog information up to date.
  • Understands and leverages data warehousing and reporting via SQL for impact sizing, project scoping, root cause analysis, and UAT.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of this position. Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential job functions.
  • 5 to 7 years of professional experience utilizing MS Office, SQL required.
  • Previous experience in Mortgage Banking / servicing is preferred.
  • 2+ Years in management of staff preferred, particularly data / reporting analysts preferred.
  • Microsoft SQL experience – Advanced to Expert
  • Excel – Advanced to Expert
  • Visio – Advanced to Expert
