As a Regulatory Compliance Specialist in Property Preservation, your responsibilities will include assisting in the development and implementation of a compliance program within the business line. You will monitor and analyze the operations of the field service business line to ensure accuracy and compliance of work product to policies, procedures, applicable corporate policies, and industry regulations. You will review changes to be implemented due to regulation interpretation or application overall as well as at a loan level.

Success in this role involves using strong analytical skills and detailed property preservation knowledge as well as your knowledge of mortgage servicing to evaluate, identify, make recommendations to improve policies or procedures accordingly, and assist in applying compliance controls to the field service operations. You must be proficient in researching applicable regulations and determining standards/controls needed to ensure compliance by the field services team.


  • Research of federal and state regulations specific to mortgage servicing with impact to property preservation.
  • Preparation and/or participation in the development of documentation describing regulatory compliance requirements, procedural change management, system specifications, and updates for internal and/or external distribution.
  • Responsible for the content and methodology for conducting research of regulatory compliance topics.
  • Responsible for preparing recommendations to management to support regulatory compliance topics.
  • Providing reports on a regular basis and as directed in order to keep the senior management team informed on compliance program activities and efforts.
  • Assist with compliance related responses to questionnaires and audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Minimum 3+ years related work experience supporting and/or research of regulatory compliance
  • In depth knowledge on GSE/Investor/Insurer guidelines
  • In depth knowledge on servicing regulations
  • Problem solver and able to work as an individual contributor to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical, reasoning, communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills, time management, and research practice
  • Ability to handle dynamic work environment; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Competence in MS Office with an emphasis on Excel – intermediate or better
  • In-depth knowledge of Field Services (Property Preservation) internal processes and procedures for all departments
  • Knowledge/familiarity with residential real estate maintenance/repair is helpful
  • Knowledge/familiarity with residential mortgage loan servicing/valuation is helpful
