Account Services Specialist, under the direct supervision of Account Services Manager, provides accurate financial information and maintains data integrity. Position is responsible for payment applications and other cash transactions where primary functions are exception based and work flow items fall outside of normal processing routines.  This includes, but is not limited to, the posting of borrower payments. Performs duties in accordance with Mr. Cooper policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Account Services Specialist is responsible for the following functions as they relate to Liquidations, Payoffs, Payment Processing, Invoice Processing, Disbursements and Bankruptcy related transactions:
  • Processing exception items that fall outside of normal processing routines.
  • Research and resolve Account Services related disputed items.
  • Research and resolve escalated customer complaints/issues.
  • Perform processing and oversight responsibilities for suspense related items
  • Direct assistance with Audits, as applicable
  • Balancing, reconciliation, research and resolution of Payment Clearing Account Reconciliation outages.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position is preferred.  Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Minimum one year Data Operations, Loan Servicing, or Real Estate Lending experience in an Account Services enivonrment within Mortgage or Financial Services preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows operating system. 
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Access, and Word is highly preferred.
  • Data entry keystroke skills – 10 key by touch highly preferred.
  • LPS/LSAMS experience preferred.
  • Proficient with facsimile, photocopier
  • Proficient with ACOM Check Printer.
  • Proficient with IDD Check Scanner
  • Proficient with Quick Check Printer
