The Accounting Manager will be part of the Xome Services accounting team.  Xome Services comprises the company’s valuation / appraisal, field services, and title and close services. Xome provides our clients with dedicated closing teams and a single point of contact as well as numerous quality checks throughout the closing process.


This position is responsible for the reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts, the processing of assigned journal entries and completion of assigned tasks to facilitate periodic closing of the general ledger.  This person will also directly manage a senior accountant and oversee offshore accounting team, and assist with their day-to-day tasks in answering questions and reviewing their work.    This person should be able to adapt to an evolving work environment, recognizing changes and providing suggestions to handle arising issues.


As the Accounting Manager, you will be principally focused on core accounting responsibilities and play an important support role for the entire Finance team, which includes Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Corporate Tax, Treasury and Financial Systems.  The position will provide direct support to the Assistant Controller, Controller, and Chief Financial Officer and indirect support to the rest of the Finance team. 


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage and mentor 1 senior accountant,  including reviewing their work
  • Oversee offshore accounting team responsibilities
  • Prepare / review / post monthly general ledger entries in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare / review assigned balance sheet account reconciliations accurately, completely, and timely
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analytical analysis
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year- end close
  • Ensure timely reporting of all monthly financial information
  • Ensure the accuracy of data and adherence of the ERP system to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end audits, including working with external audit firms to support timely completion of audits or compliance reporting
  • Independently provide prompt, courteous, and professional customer service to internal and external users of information provided by the Accounting department
  • Maintain SOX controls and departmental documentation
  • Assist in formalizing accounting related business processes, including process improvements throughout the Accounting Department
  • Assist the Assistant Controller, Controller, and Chief Financial Officer on a range of projects, primarily involving financial data collation and analysis

Core Requirements:

  • 4 to 6 years of directly related experience required - Strong month- end financial close experience: full cycle, prepare/review/post journal entries, prepare/review balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
  • Direct management of staff/senior accountants required
  • BS/BA degree in Accounting from an accredited university required
  • Excellent computer skills, especially MS Excel (Pivots, Vlookups, complex formulas)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail; high level of accuracy and ability to review self-created work
  • Comfortable performing ad-hoc research and analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and problem-solving skills
  • Public accounting experience is preferred
  • A CPA or MBA is preferred
  • Experience directly working with offshore personnel is preferred
  • Familiarity with standard accounting packages (e.g., Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
