The Counterparty Risk Analyst will be responsible for performing reviews on all new counterparties and renewing existing counterparties. Reporting to the Asst Vice President of Counterparty Risk Management, the analyst must be organized and detail-oriented with an ability to juggle many tasks at the same time.   

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The position requires an individual who can work within a team in a highly demanding environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Extracts and analyzes financial data from balance sheets, profit and loss statements, income statements
  • Reviews and interprets quality control reports; familiarity with underwriting defects and their severity is a plus
  • Compiles and reviews detailed packages on potential business partners (Attention to detail is critical)
  • Tracks all correspondence and communicates updates to various levels of the business
  • Responds to questions and submissions quickly and clearly (understands deviations from policy may have far-reaching impacts)
  • Clear and concise communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Prepares ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Supports other analysts and operational departments as required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, v-lookups, charts)
  • Multi-tasking is a must.  Most job tasks will not be performed from start to finish
  • Seeks answers to problems

Core Requirements:

  • •         High School Diploma Required; Associate or Bachelor’s College degree preferred

    •         Minimum of 2 years of experience in analysis, finance, quality control, mortgage banking, or auditing experience

    •         Years of experience in position within the financial services industry( skillset will be heavily weighted

    •         Previous counterparty risk experience a plus, but a curious mind will take you far
