The Compliance AVP will manage a team responsible for the corporate Compliance Change of Law and Change of Agency function which includes overseeing the intake, monitoring and tracking of new and amended changes to federal, state, and agency requirements through implementation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the Compliance Change of Law process and ensure changes are assigned to the Legal Dept and impacted Business Line(s) timely.
  • Provides Change of Law training and overview to internal and external parties.
  • Provides leadership, support and guidance to the Change of Law staff
  • Escalates issues, as needed, to the SVP of Compliance Administration.
  • Monitors through Archer, the progress of requirement implementation and works with the business to identify causes and possible solutions for deficiency items.
  • Regularly communicates with business support units regarding the status of all open requirements.
  • Maintains the Archer Compliance Tracking module and monitors system functionality to ensure issues are addressed timely and proactively.
  • Acts as Compliance spokesperson with RSA, for Archer, and stays up to date on system enhancements coming down the pipeline from IT and RSA.
  • Maintains and enhances the Compliance Change of Law process documentation, standard and procedures as needed.
  • Completes monthly vendor scorecards
  • Ability to manage several project initiatives with competing priorities if needed.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve processes related to Change of Law and advises management accordingly.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by Compliance leadership.

Core Requirements:

What level of education or specialized training is required to perform the job?

  • Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position is preferred.  Will consider the equivalent combination of job

experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Advanced degree relevant to the role (e.g. JD or MBA) is a plus

List any special certifications, licenses, and/or knowledge requirements for this job:

  • Archer experience preferred
  • People Management experience preferred
  • Mortgage compliance knowledge (CFPB, OCC, NMLS, etc.)
  • Legislation/regulation research (need to list sources here)
  • Technical writing ability (procedures, standards, etc.)
  • Business writing ability (proposals, summaries, memos, etc.)
  • Strong people skills – ability to earn the respect of and influence senior managers and executives
  • Strong technical skills – comfortable using a variety of software systems (Archer, Excel, Access, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Proven experience with various forms of communication with C-level Executives including presentations

How many years of directly related job experience are required to be qualified to enter the job?

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience, including at least 2 years management experience in the Mortgage or Financial Services industry.

Preferred areas of experience include Servicing, Originations, Risk Management, and Process Improvement.
