The AVP, Legal Operations Support will review and approve all audit request responses submitted to master servicers, as part of a new team that will manage master servicer audits.  The team is responsible for the timely delivery / fulfillment of requests from master servicers, including drafting, requesting and tracking approvals, escalation, and ensuring quality of documentation.  This team member will manage all requests assigned to Corporate functions of Mr. Cooper and become an expert in all servicing processes at Mr. Cooper. 


  • Provide legal approval of all audit request responses to master servicers
  • Overall management of corporate (including the Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance, IT, and HR departments) audits and exams from Master Servicers, including drafting, requesting and tracking approvals, escalation, and ensuring quality of documentation.
  • Coordination between department and supported groups for tracking issues identified by Master Servicers.
  • Acts as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies for reviews and audits.  This includes loan level research and responses.
  • Leads and directs the work of others in collaborative & effective manner, including cross-functional strategy and plan development.
  • Monitors tracking and performance monitoring mechanisms, as necessary, to keep management team apprised of operational activities. Maintain awareness of the mortgage industry and make recommendations to management as appropriate.
  • Drive the development of the brand loyalty and implement policy, procedure, and atmosphere to support corporate goals, including excellent customer service to our master servicing clients.
  • Coordinate and deliver team and individual goals in accordance with Corporate and Department goals and strategies. Provides mentoring to teams, project teams and coworkers as appropriate. Formulates and delivers employee incentive plans.

  • 6-10 years of residential mortgage servicing experience
  • Report writing or technical writing experience
  • Prior project management, project coordination/collaboration, or portfolio management experience, including scheduling and running meetings across cross functional teams
  • Ability to conduct independent research and synthesize into a written summary
  • Knowledge of P&P repositories
  • Knowledge of FHA, VA and USDA servicing guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of GSE servicing guidelines
  • Advanced/Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Word required.  Proficiency using PowerPoint to develop and deliver effective presentations preferred but not required
  • Graduation from a 4-year college or university is required.  Law degree is preferred.  Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job.  A high school diploma or state accepted equivalency is required.
