Reporting to the SVP Digital Strategy, the AVP Project Management is a critical part of company to drive the timely delivery of projects that impact that provide significant value to the organization, both operation and technology related. This position is responsible for providing leadership, management and direction for the Digital Strategy team, including project identification, prioritization, resource allocation, specification / requirements definition, planning, timeline management & project reporting. The candidate is also required to work closely with IT groups to ensure project delivery quality & timeliness. Direct Reports to this position are Program Manager, Project Managers & Business Analysts (PM & BAs) supporting originations operations.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Leads the communication & needs analysis process with the business client to drive the business requirements process to ensure that maximum business value / impact is derived from each project and that each project is the most appropriate utilization of resources and has well defined quantifiable benefits.
  • Is responsible for the identification of project initiatives, setting / managing project priorities, change control requests and the assignment of resources against the prioritized projects.
  • Administers performance management of assigned project personnel to include the development & implementation of position accountabilities, goals & performance metrics focusing on the maximization of business value and periodic performance reporting for all PMO personnel.
  • Ensures that all project progress reports are accurate and are updated in a timely manner.
  • Manage project expenditures within budgeted levels to include the discovery & implementation of efficiency /effectiveness initiatives to reduce costs within the originations operations.
  • Drives the adoption and implementation of project and program management methodology and oversee project and program management coaching.
  • Provides key stakeholders with timely assessment of projects, quality or risk issues with early identification of project issues and risks impacting completion.
  • Provides consistent communication to stakeholders with updates on progress, impacts, and changes associated with management of portfolio
  • Recommends action to analyze issues/risks; guides team to identify issues/risk solutions, and provides project team with resources/support

Core Requirements:

  • Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position is preferred (will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job).
  • Six Sigma or Project Management certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience leading project management resources
  • Job experience in the mortgage banking industry is preferred.
