Job Description:


The AVP of Information Systems provides the vision, leadership and process improvement strategy for a variety of Corporate applications.  These include Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Quality Control related projects and system development / implementation in support of initiatives. Acts as the principal liaison between the CFO's Office and other strategic business areas throughout the organization. Responsible for ensuring that technology and processes are delivered appropriately to ensure accurate reporting while minimizing the Finance cost structure. The position also manages the daily production support of these applications, maximizing the five nines of uptime.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of IT developers and leads to ensure SDLC processes are followed while delivering the optimum solution to meet the business requirements of the project.
  • Leads a team of support individuals to ensure teamwork as daily production support situations occur, maximizing system uptime and accurate resolution.
  • Oversight of onshore and offshore development resources to support IT Corporate portfolio Management of all capacity planning (resource management) to ensure proper team members are available to meet the demand of projects along with the daily production support.
  • Work with the IT Project Management team for new project work, including IT labor and equipment estimates (CBA), as well as prioritization of new work.
  • Drives initiatives within the CFO's Office that improve Finance processes by leveraging technology, being specifically attentive to daily accounting procedures, maintenance of monthly, quarterly and year-end closing schedules and the related reporting.
  • Work with the Accounting, Finance, and Treasury teams to design and implement and administer financial information systems; seeking ways to improve processes, financial analysis, financial reporting and security controls.
  • Coordinate with the Compliance, Legal, Risk and Quality Control teams to design and implement and administer the systems in support of Governance Risk and Compliance; seeking ways to improve Policies and Procedures, Risk Management, Compliance monitoring, audit processes (SOX), and security controls. Identifies opportunities for improvements within these department processes and supporting systems and recommends methods and technologies for improvement.
  • Extensive knowledge of SDLC and IT Technology development processes, and current with trends and issues in the information technology industry relating to financial/accounting and governance systems.

Core Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a closely related field (foreign equivalent acceptable)
  • Masters/MBA/Professional certifications preferred.
  • At least 10 years of Technology development experience with Microsoft .NET technologies and/or Java J2EE.
  • Experience with the Mortgage Industry or Financial Applications preferred.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design and programming (OOD, OOP) and Design Patterns.
  • Hand-on .NET development (C#.NET, WPF, Entity Framework, ADO.NET, ASP.NET, MVVM, MVC) experience
  • Experience with .NET Web Services, WCF, REST
  • Database Development experience - Preferred SQL Server 2008/2010 (Stored Procedures, triggers, DTS etc)
  • Experience implementing Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) a plus.
  • Utilization of JavaScript, ASP, ASP.net, HTML 5, AngularJS, XML, XSD, XSL, AJAX, JQuery
  • Experience with classic ASP and Classic VB, COM/DCOM applications a plus.
  • Exposure to TFS, VSS
  • Experience with Scrum and Agile Methodology a plus.
  • At least 7 years of experience with Software Development Life Cycle Methodology (Agile, Waterfall, SCRUM)
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience with General Ledger/HR software (Navision, SAP, Workday) or functionally similar applications.
  • 10 years experience working with/supporting Finance systems within the Financial Services industry; Mortgage Servicing experience a plus.
