The Collateral Liquidation Associate works directly with real estate agents, attorneys, borrowers, vendors, or title companies to facilitate a collateral workout. This collateral review process includes document collection, negotiation to meet guidelines including liens releases for subordinate lien holders, obtain approval and acceptance of workout, ensure clear title for transfer documents, and closing.


  • Work with the real estate agent, borrower, or attorney, primarily by phone or email, to obtain all required documentation for the short sale review
  • Obtain updated property valuations, title reports and attorney recommendations regarding collateral based workouts
  • Negotiate each collateral workout according to Investor, Mortgage Insurance, and company guidelines
  • Present workout recommendations to Management/Client Committee for approval/denial of requests
  • Confirm clear title for collateral workout prior to completion and obtain and negotiate subordinate lien holder approval
  • Provide timely response to all parties involved in the collateral workout and manage work gaps
  • Prepare and maintain monthly reports detailing the portfolio performance including results of each workout and status of future workouts
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position preferred. Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Preferred 2 years default-related experience required or equivalent loan servicing experience
  • Knowledgeable on branch systems including LSAMS, Remedy, LPS Desktop, and Equator preferred.
  • Understanding of all government collection laws including Fair Debt Collections Act, ECOA, foreclosure and bankruptcy laws preferred.
