JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the commissions calculation process from beginning to end each payroll period.  Accurately processes all inputs to the commissions process and ensures calculations are accurate each period.  Supports both automated process using an application and manual calculations as needed.  Ensures all audit and SOX controls are met.  Responds to variable pay related inquiries from employees.  Identifies process improvement opportunities to manager and broader team and assists implementing.

Job Function

25% Analyzes approved or proposed compensation plans and determines source data needs and requirements for setting up calculations in automated tools or spreadsheets.  May provide input to proposed plan changes in order to ensure efficient administration

25% Configures automated incentive compensation tool and creates test scenarios to be used for UAT to ensure compensation plans are set up and calculating correctly

15% Documents standard operating procedures for application configuration to ensure consistency of system setup so that knowledge transfer and troubleshooting have maximum efficiency and to facilitate the training of payroll staff

20% Answers most complex employee and manager queries through telephone or email communications by identifying the issue, researching problems as needed, troubleshooting root cause as necessary and taking corrective actions if needed in order to ensure accurate payroll and high customer satisfaction

5% Acts as liaison between internal customers and external vendors as needed

10% Provides regression and other testing of system changes as needed to ensure accuracy of system maintenance and/or enhancements

Additional Duties

  • Analyzes system capabilities and business processes during the normal course of activity and makes recommendations for improvements in order to support data integrity efforts
  • May assist with training commissions specialists on the commissions process as needed
  • Generates reports for internal and external customers as needed
  • Maintains and tracks all issues/work using standard Issue Tracking Processes
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

What level of education or specialized training is required to perform the job?

  • Prefer a minimum of a 4 year degree in accounting or general business studies or equivalent

    List any special certifications, licenses, and/or knowledge requirements for this job:

  • Lean/Six Sigma Certifications highly desirable

    How many years of directly related job experience are required to be qualified to enter the job?

  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of commissions processing or similar experience
    • Experience with Callidus incentive compensation management system highly desirable
