The Escrow Assistant I is responsible for assisting the Escrow Officer and escrow related office functions. Reporting to the Escrow Manager the Escrow Assistant I will have escrow “open and close” responsibilities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Process new contracts,  including order/data entry, EMD follow up, obtaining all Agent contact info/HOA/utilities/payoffs, etc.,
  • Opening packages
  • Read contracts, commitments and orders in preparation for the closing as well as assemble the necessary documents to prepare the file.
  • Interact with the buyers, agents, county and city entities, etc.
  • Handle all file requirements prior to closing, including but not limited to liens, judgments, and bankruptcy requirements.
  • Maintain communication with the Escrow Officer, buyers, agents and clients regarding status of the file.
  • Assist the Escrow Officer in all phases of closing.

Core Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a mortgage, title, or escrow related position is strongly preferred.
  • Must possess strong word processing skills with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Should show confidence in use of web-based and desktop-based applications. Must have the ability to quickly learn new systems and technology as needed to perform job functions.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills appropriate to a professional, client-facing environment with a great customer service attitude and mindset.
  • Must be detail oriented in reviewing text-based or numerical-based legal documents.
  • High school diploma or stated accepted equivalent required.
