The Fair Servicing Compliance Analyst will report to the VP of Fair Servicing Compliance and assist in the execution of the fair servicing program, including routine fair servicing testing and monitoring of Mr. Cooper  performing, default and reverse servicing activity. The ideal candidate will have a strong regulatory compliance background and experience with analysis of data including statistical analyses and qualitative analyses. The ideal candidate will also have a background in mortgage servicing operations. The analyst must work closely with business partners and stakeholders to resolve potential fair treatment gaps.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Builds quantitative and qualitative analyses, including requesting servicing data, conducting due diligence of data prior to analysis, creation of scorecards and file review populations within fair lending/fair servicing software, communicating results to business partners and reporting results to management.
  • Conduct file reviews, including development of test questions, sample selection, reading analyzing and interpreting loan files, including but not limited to loss mitigation applications and default servicing activity.
  • Assists in risk assessments over applicable and select servicing business units, including identification of inherent risks, mitigants and residual risks.
  • Assist in review of vendors utilized by the servicing business for fair servicing and fair treatment program compliance.
  • Assists in development and updating of fair servicing policies and procedures.
  • Monitors escalated fair servicing calls and written complaints for validation of issue and purported risks.
  • Reports any potential concerns about non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Core Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Bachelors preferred
  • 3 or more years of mortgage servicing experience such as default servicing, Compliance, or Legal
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large data sets
  • Strong Customer service skills and verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable of applicable fair servicing and fair treatment laws including ECOA, FHA, UDAAP, ADA, etc.
  • Knowledge of the following servicing programs preferable, but not required: LSAMS,  Equator, LPS/Blacknight
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products (i.e. Excel) required
