Intern Job Summary

The Mr. Cooper 12 week long Summer Internship Program provides real-world, professional work experience and the opportunity to be a valued contributor! From day one you’ll be working side-by-side with your mentor and manger on project-based work that enables you to apply the knowledge and skills you are learning through college courses. And we’re not talking about “busy work” here; this is about gaining valuable hands-on experience that is critical to our success. Intern Duties and Responsibilities

• Supports IT Infrastructure cost and pricing development (Rate Card) and communicates with management to summarize IT product revenue, costing, and benefit trends.• Evaluates model structures, metrics, and updates to reflect changes in IT platforms, services, and industry standards to facilitate costing, pricing, analysis, and benchmarking.• Prepare and distribute budget variance analysis, research and reconcile variances, and forecast updates.

• Support business case development and perform project financial analyses (e.g., deployment strategy analysis, portfolio performance analysis, case studies, etc.) to justify and prioritize technology investments.

This position will work directly on continuous analysis of the cost of IT Operations including servers, networks, storage, cloud, data center, support, etc.  The selected candidate will help complete the cost data for those areas that goes into a Rate Card which is presented to line of business leaders so they better understand the cost of their operations and also anticipate the cost of future increases due to growth, projects, etc.

In addition, as spends occur during the course of a month, each cost is compared against budget and a monthly reconciliation of actual to budget costs occurs to aid senior leadership in understanding what costs changed or were added/deleted, etc. and give insight into how we are performing on a monthly and year to date basis.

Finally, as new projects come into scope, this position will assist in performing the cost benefit analysis pieces to ensure the company is accurately depicting its costs effectively.  This ties directly into the Budget and Rate Card as costs from each will be inputs into various new projects.

Intern Qualifications & Ability

  • A high school diploma or state accepted equivalency is required.
  • Currently a junior or senior in college with an expected graduation date in 2019 - 2021
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Ability to execute multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet deadlines
  • Demonstration of leadership and working within a group or team environment a plus
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
