JOB SUMMARY

The HUD Assignment Manager (HAM) is directly responsible for a team that reviews curative and non-curative exceptions for resolution and/or packages and submits initial HUD Assignment Claims to HUD for approval. The HUD Assignment Manager leads a team of 8-12 associates to ensure assignment exceptions (curative & non-curative) and claims are being worked, followed –up, submitted and paid in a timely manner. HUD Assignment Manager is also responsible to manage engaged vendors and oversight SLA’s when applicable.  The HAM analyzes loan/exception level pipeline trends, volume, and accuracy to minimize financial risk to Champion Mortgage. The HAM also provides valuable coaching/feedback to maintain consistency throughout the HUD Assignment Claims Department.

Scope/Responsibilities: Manages a team with a focus on policy and strategy implementation and control or responsible for supervising team efforts to achieve operational/tactical goals; coordinates day to day transactions and projects. May or may not be responsible for managing costs for assigned area. Direct Report to VP or AVP. Typically manages Manager/Professional and/or below Manager/Associate level resources; Subordinates perform the same essential work and activities. Responsible for short term project planning or operational goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure accuracy of all Claim related documentation from direct team members.
  • Verify documentation of all systems necessary for proper document defect resolution, claim handling and follow-up.
  • Manage internal and off-shore partners so that upstream/downstream processes are completed accurately/timely.
  • Assist with side by side training for new hires
  • Assist with creating, organizing, and maintaining current training material for the department
  • Monitor and organize orders to and from various vendors to ensure timely HUD Assignment Claim submissions
  • Validate HUD Assignment approvals, collateral file shipment, and claim filing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 7+ years of directly related Loan Servicing experience. High school diploma or state approved equivalency required.
