External Audit Analyst works with exam management and corresponding business units in an effort to coordinate audit responses accurately and within SLA.Role Overview: Principal Risk will review request and distribute and meet with related business units Principal Risk will attend on-site audit meetings Principal Risk will conduct weekly meetings with Business units, Legal, Compliance, and Exam Management to review exam notes and prepare response documents and commentary Principal Risk is to make sure these items are received from the business in a timely manner. This is critical to help the on-site audit run smooth and helps the business identify any areas of emphasis prior to the on-site. Principal Risk is to coordinate with Exam Management to make sure the right people from the business are in meetings. Also, to make sure that preliminary feedback is vetted through the proper approval channels prior to sharing with auditors. Principal Risk must follow up on any outstanding issues received after the audit has been completed, which is generally a daily/weekly occurrence. This requires communication with related business groups to make sure proper responses and/or remediation plans are in place. The goal is to make sure we have addressed all observations and/or issues, and have proper controls in place. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Experience in the Mortgage or Financial Services industry highly preferred. Preferred areas of experience include Servicing, Originations, Risk Management, and Control design and Control Monitoring, and Process Improvement. Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job. Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position is preferred. Graduate degree is a plus. Mortgage compliance knowledge (CFPB, OCC, NMS, etc.) Technical writing ability (procedures, standards, etc.) Business writing ability (proposals, summaries, memos, etc.) Strong people skills – ability to earn the respect of and influence senior managers and executives Strong technical skills – comfortable using a variety of software systems (Excel, Access, Word, SharePoint, etc.); knowledge of Mr. Cooper systems such as LSAMS, Remedy, TMO, etc. desirable Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail Strong communication skills
