Principal Risk Analyst


Dallas, Texas

The Principal Risk Analyst will work individually or with a team and under general direction of Enterprise Risk Management framework. This role will be responsible for performing review and validation that cover a variety of compliance, operational and enterprise risk objectives. This position will lead the evaluation of key risks, validation objectives to determine risk exposure.

This person will also deliver outstanding services to business partners and act as a leading member of the company’s team of enterprise risk management professionals.


  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships and build partnerships within  review area to ensure mutual understanding of risks and exposures
  • Ensure reviews and validations are adequately planned and work is performed in accordance with risk and compliance objectives.
  • Perform research to understand and summarize risk exposure associated with functions and programs being evaluated are compliant to risk framework.
  • Standardize validation programs and perform reviews to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of a given process.
  • Work with data analyst to quantify unit/dollar exposure and perform statistical analyses of data if need.
  • Prepares recommendations that clearly communicate risks, in terms of impact to the process and root cause, and key risks from a senior management perspective.
  • Advise and coordinate with other departments about policies, procedures and process improvements.   
  • Represent enterprise risk for major company initiatives and provide guidance on issues relating to risk management, controls and processes.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6 years progressively responsible experience in one or more of  Financial/Operational Risk, QA/QC, Internal Audit teams
  • Certification as a RMP is a plus
  • Prior Mortgage Banking industry experience a plus. Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job.
