The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for planning and executing test plans and test cases to ensure development output meets the defined specifications according to the business requirements and technical specifications. Utilizing existing tools and techniques, the QA Engineer will execute test cases and build automation scripts for performing testing.

Daily Tasks Include:

  • Review business requirements, functional requirements and technical specifications of current software development projects
  • Participate in Functional requirement reviews, clarifying requirements, understanding design decisions
  • Convert requirements and specifications into a QA test plan, test cases and ultimately test scripts. Review of test plan with peer job families for coverage of software changes being introduced
  • Create, review, update and execute automation scripts (Selenium) as required for development, debugging efforts, and regression activity for a release
  • Execute test cases, report progress and determine whether software working to specifications. Document defects and other issues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Conduct root cause analysis of identified defects providing Development/Business Analyst partners with sufficient detail to understand, replicate and prevent future occurrences the defect
  • Follow up on outstanding issues to meet testing timelines
  • Ensure that no defective products are moved to end-user testing or production environments without stakeholder approval
  • Assist in post-implementation issue review and continuous improvement efforts to enhance system performance
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement


  • Bachelor's degree preferred but will consider equivalent experience
  • Experience testing complex multi-tiered web-based systems and complex data-driven applications
  • Experience with building test automation scripts using automation testing tools such as Selenium
  • Solid knowledge of testing API and web/windows services  
  • Proficiency with SQL database technologies and techniques
  • Exposure to client/server, object-oriented applications
  • At least 3 years in-depth experience and demonstrated proficiency with Agile methodology and iterative software development techniques and processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams (onshore/offshore), self-directed to find solutions and strong written and oral communication skills are essential
  • Proficiency in using tools such as Jenkins, Jira
  • Java and/or Python experience strongly preferred
