The Repurchase Analyst II will be responsible for reviewing loans demanding a Repurchase/Make Whole from investors for alleged Servicing defects/issues. The position will research all aspects for compliance within investor guidelines and make recommendations to management to accept or file a rebuttal under the direction of Repurchase Manager.


  • Reviews assigned inbound investor repurchases, make whole demands and maintains a working pipeline in company database.
  • Investigates a variety of Servicing related issues using various research tools; internal as well as vendor resources, to defend Mr. Cooper’s position and confidence in the loan.
  • Under minimal supervision, ensures compliance with investor guidelines/timelines and internal requirements by identifying risk exposure on repurchase claims through forensic analysis on loan files.
  • Works with Repurchase Management to prepare thorough written appeals with effective supporting documentation to defend and mitigate loss exposure for Nationstar.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends to minimize risk for Nationstar and, effectively communicate findings to the Repurchase Managers.
  • Identifies potential recourse on demands issued against Nationstar and submits data to Contract Recovery claims.
  • Reviews contracts and identifies breaches in order to rebut demand requests and identify responsible party for potential recourse.


  • Education & Professional Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred and typically requires a minimum of 2 - 5 years related work experience. Mortgage and/or Financial services experience a plus. Preferred candidates should possess in depth knowledge of FHA/VA claims, Reverse Mortgages, and/or prior Repurchase experience.
