Nationstar Mortgage LLC is seeking a Senior IT Database Administrator for our Irving, TX office to be responsible for database installation, configuration management, database design and normalization, security, monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting. Responsible for allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database. Expected to create primary database storage structures once developers have designed an application and to create primary database objects (tables, views, indices) once application developers have designed an application. Expected to modify the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers. Also responsible for: enrolling users and maintaining system security; ensuring compliance with license agreements; controlling and monitoring user access to the database; monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database; planning for backup and recovery of database information; maintaining archived data on appropriate storage devices; and backing up and restoring the database, including recovery scenarios. Will serve as primary contact with vendor for technical support.

Position requires a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field (foreign equivalent acceptable) and 5 years of progressively responsible experience or a Master’s in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field and 2 years of experience. The required experience listed above must have included: DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2008R2/2012/2014/2016 in a production environment; 24 x 7 Support, Monitoring, Maintenance and Administration of production, QA and dev SQL environments and working with change request process; configuring, implementing and supporting transactional replication and SQL clustering; configuring, implementing and supporting large high availability SQL Server environments, including experience with log shipping, and database mirroring; understanding of query execution plans; identifying, troubleshooting and resolving live database systems issues; working with disaster recovery principles and practices, including planning, testing, backup/restore; and managing all DB maintenance plan activities including backups, indexing, integrity and consistency checks, etc.
