Nationstar Mortgage LLC is seeking a SQL Server DBA for its Irving, TX office to be responsible for database installation, configuration management, database design and normalization, security, monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting. Expected to allocate system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database. Create primary database storage structures once developers have designed an application. Create primary database objects (tables, views, indices) once application developers have designed an application. Modify the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers. Enroll users, maintaining system security and ensure compliance with license agreements.

Position requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field (foreign equivalent acceptable) and 5 years of progressively responsible experience or a Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field (foreign equivalent acceptable) and 2 years of experience. The experience that is required must have involved the following: working in a DBA role with large and numerous database instances, database design and normalization, table designs, performance tuning (SQL/OS), backup and recovery, debugging, and replication; DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server
2008/2008R2/2012/2014 in a production environment; 24 x 7 support, monitoring, maintenance and administration of production, QA and dev SQL environments and handling change request process; configuring, implementing and supporting transactional replication and SQL clustering; configuring, implementing and supporting large high availability SQL Server environments, including experience with log shipping, and database mirroring; handling query execution plans; proactively identifying, troubleshooting and resolving live database systems issues; handling disaster recovery principles and practices, including planning, testing, backup/restore; managing all DB maintenance plan activities including backups, indexing, integrity and consistency checks, etc.
