We’re seeking an experienced Senior Portfolio Analyst to become part of the Portfolio Management team. Intensive day-to-day advanced hands-on data manipulation, performance tracking, and analytics experience is required to fulfill the needs of this role.

Primary responsibilities will include but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Portfolio review thru performance tracking, complex quantitative deep dive analysis to research performance drivers and to summarize findings
  • Agency scorecard performance tracking and monitoring
  • Portfolio strategy implementation, tracking setup in support of improving the overall P&L outcome and servicing performance to maximize the servicing economics
  • Origination credit overlay tracking, industry bench marking and related ad-hoc analysis

On a regular basis, this Senior Portfolio Analyst will conduct the following:

  • Intensive hands-on data analysis to track, evaluate and deep dive the actual performance of the portfolio
  • Hands-on strategy design thru advanced SAS/SQL programming, Decision Tree segmentation and Excel skills, which involves:
    • Analytics of the portfolio as a whole, as well as drilling down and working with loan level data to identify the portfolio performance drivers and risk indicators. The Senior Analyst must be able to interact with business team and modeling team to develop and conduct data analysis.

FUNCTIONAL JOB COMPETENCIES

  • Conduct regular tasks on portfolio review, Agency scorecard performance review and management, portfolio management related tracking and analytics tasks
  • Key servicing metrics monitoring and related analysis
  • Collaborate with the business and modeling team to analyze, implement, track and document new portfolio management strategies
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to drill down and track servicing performance and associated strategies, includes but not limited to the collection effectiveness, modification performance, loss mitigation, workout efficiency, FCL/BK/REO servicing performance, etc.
  • Evaluate external economic drivers, and portfolio holistic performance relative to the forecast (CPR, CDR, CRR, roll rates and other performance metrics that drive the revenue and cost projections)
  • Benchmark performance against comparable portfolios using internal or external industry data sources thru synthetic pool analysis
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and build industry tracking reports to assist credit policy evaluation and decision analysis
  • Collaborate with modeling teams to leverage the statistical forecast models to predict loan level default/workout/loss probability to facilitate the strategy design
  • Self-directed/motivated individual with strong project management skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-5 years of intermediate to advanced hands-on SAS(Marcos) and SQL programming/coding
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics or economics or relevant studies required; Advanced Master degree in quantitative discipline preferred
  • Advanced excel skills required
  • Hands-on statistical analysis experience to conduct required portfolio review & management work; should have demonstrated capability to independently deep dive issues, and track/document solutions
  • Knowledge across mortgage loan life cycles is preferred; familiar with mortgage servicing practices and process by loan status is preferred
  • Familiar with the statistical principles, predictive models and other quantitative methods is a plus
  • Strong PowerPoint skills; High level of proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills strong presentation
  • Strong problem solving skills with the capability to follow issues through to completion
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines; able to multitask, prioritize and collaborate both within the team and cross teams
