Job Description:

Would you like to join a fun, hardworking development team that’s pioneering exciting changes in the mortgage industry? Then our Team wants to hear from you. We’re looking for a SQL DBA who will be largely responsible for providing operational and development support services to the organization.

The role will require a service oriented mentality, strong sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Focus on managing and resolving issues
  • Establish and maintain communication with technology customers to keep them updated with the status of their requests
  • Initiate and perform changes on production systems, and proactively escalate any issues that cannot be resolved.
  • Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database.
  • Database installation, configuration management, database design and normalization, security, monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting.
  • Creating primary database storage structures once developers have designed an application.
  • Creating primary database objects (tables, views, indices) once application developers have designed an application.
  • Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers.
  • Enrolling users and maintaining system security.
  • Ensuring compliance with license agreements.
  • Controlling and monitoring user access to the database.
  • Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database.
  • Planning for backup and recovery of database information.
  • Maintaining archived data on appropriate storage devices.
  • Backing up and restoring the database, including recovery scenarios.
  • Primary contact with vendor for technical support.
  • Own, track, and resolve database related incidents and requests
  • Respond to database related alerts and escalations and work with various departments to create strategic solutions to recurring problems
  • Fulfill service requests within SLA’s
  • Review service related reports (audits, monitoring, backups, etc.) daily to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLA’s. 

Core Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science/Technology or Engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 5 years experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016 in a production environment

Preferred Requirements

  • Working Knowledge of Cloud Based Infrastructures, including AWS, MS Azure
  • 7+ years experience with MS SQL Server Administration
