Intern Job Summary

The Mr. Cooper 12 week long Summer Internship Program provides real-world, professional work experience and the opportunity to be a valued contributor! From day one you’ll be working side-by-side with your mentor and manger on project-based work that enables you to apply the knowledge and skills you are learning through college courses. And we’re not talking about “busy work” here; this is about gaining valuable hands-on experience that is critical to our success. You’ll do real work, earn real pay and have a ton of fun while doing it!

Intern Duties and Responsibilities

•Create, Update, and Edit various types of documentation from procedures to job aids to Announcements

•Conduct interviews with various users and staff to gather necessary information to update and /or create documentation

•Assist with Projects related to the Policy Office

•Assist with our internal social media page

•Create PowerPoint Presentation & Present

•Shadow all areas of the Policy Office

Daily tasks will include:

•Working in Mr. Cooper’s P&P system of record editing Standards and Procedure documents

•Carrying on electronic and phone conversations with business SMEs

•Attending meetings with the hiring manager and the intern mentor

•Creating and publishing content on Mr. Cooper’s internal social media site for The Policy Office

•Creating an end-of-semester presentation with a summary of what was learned

Who We are Looking For

•Must be a current student in good standing

•Must be interested in pursuing a technical writing career

•Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Technical Communications, English, Journalism, Creative writing or other relevant major with focus on writing.

•Initiative to learn various types of documentation software, style guides and html

•Familiar with the Chicago Manual of Style

•Excellent organizational and communication skills

•Excellent technical writing skills and a great attitude
